AJA Introduces New 12G-SDI Mini-Converters

AJA Video Systems has expanded its powerful, portable family of 12G-SDI Mini-Converters, including new models that extend Fiber connectivity to simplify the transfer of 12G-SDI over long distances (up to 10 km) via a single optical cable with lockable ST connectors. FiDO-T-12G-ST and FiDO-R-12G-ST enable single-channel conversion between 12G-SDI and ST Fiber; the HA5-12G-T-ST and Hi5-12G-R-ST support conversion between HDMI 2.0 and 12G-SDI and ST Fiber; and the 12G-AMA facilitates 12G-SDI analog audio embedding/disembedding, with a range of model variations available for transmitting and receiving signals over 12G-SDI BNC, LC Fiber or ST Fiber.

     
     
 
Cinegy Makes Editing with Adobe Faster with TURBOCUT

Cinegy has announced TURBOCUT, a new Adobe CC plug-in which significantly accelerates the editing of H.264/HEVC by utilising the NVIDIA GPU’s hardware decoder. The announcement coincides with Adobe releasing version 14.2 of Adobe Premiere with several new features added, but still missing NVIDIA hardware accelerated editing and using the NVIDIA GPU for decoding H.264 and HEVC.

AJA Video Systems has released Ki Pro GO v2.0 firmware for its powerful and portable multi-channel H.264 recorder and player. RTV Slovenia Expands Partnership with Dalet to Transform End-to-End News Workflows for Radio and TV with Dalet Galaxy five

Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for broadcasters and content professionals announced that RTV Slovenia will migrate its entire news operations to Dalet Galaxy five. A Dalet radio customer for more than 25 years, Slovenia’s national broadcaster is expanding its partnership with Dalet to include its television news operation. The powerful Dalet Galaxy five platform will serve as the underlying editorial and orchestration solution that manages the broadcaster’s entire news production and distribution workflow for radio and television across the production hub located in Ljubljana and throughout their regional locations in Koper and Maribor.

     
     
 
Ateme, SES Collaborate on UHD Satellite Transmission Using VVC

Ateme is partnering with SES, Videolabs and IERT for the first end-to-end UHD satellite broadcast transmission using the Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard, the company announced. The test transmission is using an SES satellite positioned at the 28.2-degree East orbital position and is relaying a 4K UHD video stream using VVC. Versatile Video Coding offers a 50% efficiency improvement over HEVC, the company says.

Product of the Week: Lectrosonics DPR

Expanding its line of wireless products aimed at the film, broadcast, music and theater production markets, Lectrosonics has introduced the DPR plug-on wireless transmitter. Operating in the UHF band with a tuning range of 470 to 614 MHz, the DPR can be used with any microphone or line-level source via standard XLR connector. The DPR is part of the company’s D Squared family of digital wireless microphone products and is fully compatible with the DSQD receiver.
