Bexel Adds 20 AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus Recorders to Inventory

Bexel, an NEP Broadcast Services Company, has added 20 brand-new AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus multichannel recorders and 80 AJA Pak Media PAK1000 1 terabyte solid-state drives (SSDs) to its rental inventory, giving customers robust and redundant recording and storage capabilities for virtually any size production and any 2K/4K/HD/UHD workflow.

     
     
 
Leader Updates LV5333 Waveform Monitor

Leader’s LV5333 compact 3G/HD/SD-SDI waveform monitor has a few new tricks up its sleeve courtesy of a new update. Among the new features that Leader has integrated into the system are measurement facilities for BT.2020 color space, full range video and the LV5333SER02 HDR option, which enables measurement of HD HDR and 2SI 4K in ITU.BT.2100 Hybrid Log Gamma, Dolby PQ or Sony Slog-3 protocols.

LTO Program Introduces Generation 8 of LTO Ultrium

The specifications for the latest LTO Ultrium format, generation 8, has been announced by LTO Program Technology Provider Companies Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM and Quantum. In addition, the LTO Program has issued a new LTO technology roadmap that details specifications up to 12 generations of technology, extending the total capacity of data held on one LTO Ultrium generation 12 tape cartridge to 480TB.

     
     
 
eXtended Data in ZEISS CP.3 Lenses – Perfect for VFX

ZEISS unveiled CP.3 and CP.3 XD lines of prime lenses at this year NAB Show. Optically there are the same lenses but XD lenses has one useful feature — eXtended Data (based on Cooke’s /i) technology via inconspicuous Lemo connector. What SMPTE-2110 Means for Broadcasters

At last month’s IBC Show, SMPTE announced that three of the main documents in the new series of IP video standards (SMPTE ST 2110) have been finalized. Years of work have led up to this point, which should prove to be a pivotal moment in the ongoing migration of media networks to use IP networking technology. Once this new standard is fully released and implemented over the next few months, manufacturers will be able to supply devices that can seamlessly interconnect uncompressed video, audio and other important metadata between devices that support every conceivable video processing function.
