Cinegy is all about 8K and beyond for NAB 2016

Sony releases v3.0 firmware for FS7, adds Center Scan, moveable focus magnification

Sony have today finally released their highly anticipated version 3.0 firmware for the FS7. It was previously scheduled for release in December but was delayed due to the discovery of issues with the quality of high frame rate RAW recordings.

     
     
 
Harmonic and AsiaSat Launch UHD Channel

A second UHD channel will soon make its way to the air for satellite operator AsiaSat thanks to its partnership with Harmonic. Schedule to go live March 1, 4K-SAT2/HVN is AsiaSat 4’s latest free-to-air UHD channel that will be located at 122 degrees East for Asia-Pacific.

     
     
 
Remote control your AG-DVX200

Panasonic just released the AG ROP (Remote Operation Panel) app, allowing remote control of the professional AG-DVX200 4K camera recorder from an iPad. Available for download from the Apple App Store, the new app for remote control is distributed, free of charge, to users of the Panasonic AG-DVX200 4K a Micro Four Thirds sensor camera recorder released in September 2015.

     
     
 
XenData to launch new SXL-8 archive systems

XenData, the global provider of video archive solutions to the media and entertainment industry, today announced the launch and immediate availability of its new SXL-8 archive systems. These are based on XenData’s SX-250 archive server and an LTO-7 autoloader that holds up to 7 LTO-7 cartridges. The system attaches to a network via 1GbE or 10GbE, and manages digital content across three tiers of storage: 6 TB of disk within the server, 42 TB of near-line LTO and unlimited capacity of offline LTO cartridges.
