SAM introduced new series of next generation MultiViewers at IBC 2016

Snell Advanced Media (SAM) announced a complete new line-up of MultiViewers at IBC 2016. Dalet Galaxy creates a connected multisite HD News workflow for Record News

Dalet Digital Media Systems, provider of software-based solutions for media organizations, announced today that Brazils 24-hour news channel, Record News, has selected the Dalet Galaxy for News solution to drive an integrated news production and playout workflow for its São Paulo and Araraquara locations. Creating a single content repository for the two sites to access, the Dalet system offers Record News a story-centric news solution that features affordable IT hardware and federated tools for managing ingest, search, browse, story planning and production, news playout, continuity playout, and archiving.

     
     
 
Canon launches first 4K studio zoom lens

Canon announced the launch of the UHD-DIGISUPER 27, a high-optical-performance studio zoom lens for 4K broadcast cameras employing 2/3-inch sensors. In addition to achieving a level of resolution surpassing that of 4K from the center to the peripheral areas of image field across the entire zoom range, the UHD-DIGISUPER 27 achieves the same body size and weight as its predecessor, the DIGISUPER 27.

     
     
 
Sony unveiled the ultimate Full-HD handheld camera with the latest technology, the HXR-NX5R

Sony introduced its latest NXCAM camcorder the HXR-NX5R, superseding popular NX5 and NX3 solutions, offering network functions and a greater shooting performance. Superb colour imagery and high sensitivity is possible thanks to the three 1/2.8-type Full HD Exmor CMOS sensors and 40x Clear Image Zoom function to double the optical zoom without losing image quality, in addition to multi-format recording to cater for wide range of shooting applications and environments such as live events, including weddings or corporate productions.

     
     
 
Sound Devices Wingman powerful remote option for the 6-Series mixer/recorder line

At the IBC 2016 Sound Devices unveiled Wingman, its newest wireless remote control option for the 6-Series mixer/recorder line. Wingman is an iOS-based application that, when paired with the new WM-Connect Bluetooth Smart USB accessory, lets users start and stop audio recordings, enter and edit metadata, as well as arm, disarm, and rename tracks. It also gives users touch-screen access to manage sound report information, create sound reports on the mixer, and the ability to email those sound reports (.csv files) directly from an iPhone or iPad.

NewTek debuts first-ever production system designed specifically for IP video

NewTek introduced the NewTek IP Series, a software-driven, modular video production system with virtually limitless access to video sources and video mixing options. Designed to work cohesively in an ecosystem, the NewTek IP Series is the first large production system designed for IP video while also fully backwards compatible with SDI; using separate scalable high-performance components for the mixing and control, input, and output of sources allowing virtually unlimited scalability.

     
     
 
SAM launches refreshed Vega router range for small-medium routing and processing applications

Snell Advanced Media (SAM) has unveiled its newly updated range of its flexible Vega hybrid small to mid-sized routers. The brand is introducing the updated 100 range of modular 2RU, 4RU and 7RU routers, as well as the brand new Vega 10 series of more cost-effective routers. Both Vega 10 series and 100 series routers offer audio and video routing, embedding and de-embedding, clean and quiet switching outputs and line synchronisers.

     
     
 
Calrec Introduced Br.IO for Brio

Calrec has used the IBC Show in Amsterdam to introduce Br.IO, a new companion for the recently unveiled Brio digital broadcast console that doubles its on-board IO. Br.IO is a 4U rackmount box which the company believes is an easy and affordable way to expand Brio's IO.

     
     
 
Largest hungarian broadcaster relies on TVU Networks for Live coverage from Rio

After a complete evaluation of available cellular portable transmission solutions, the largest Hungarian media organization, Magyar Televízió (Hungarian Television, aka MTVA), selected the TVU One portable mobile newsgathering transmitter and deployed four of them for its location reporting from the Rio Summer Games earlier this month. The national public broadcaster used the lightweight TVU One units for live transmission from various world-renowned Rio locations for in-venue stand-up interviews and other broadcast activities.
