Snell Advanced Media (SAM) has unveiled its newly updated range of its flexible Vega hybrid small to mid-sized routers. The brand is introducing the updated 100 range of modular 2RU, 4RU and 7RU routers, as well as the brand new Vega 10 series of more cost-effective routers. Both Vega 10 series and 100 series routers offer audio and video routing, embedding and de-embedding, clean and quiet switching outputs and line synchronisers.

Calrec has used the IBC Show in Amsterdam to introduce Br.IO, a new companion for the recently unveiled Brio digital broadcast console that doubles its on-board IO. Br.IO is a 4U rackmount box which the company believes is an easy and affordable way to expand Brio's IO.

After a complete evaluation of available cellular portable transmission solutions, the largest Hungarian media organization, Magyar Televízió (Hungarian Television, aka MTVA), selected the TVU One portable mobile newsgathering transmitter and deployed four of them for its location reporting from the Rio Summer Games earlier this month. Panasonic announce a new "cinema-ready" version of its VariCam 35 aimed at high-end Hollywood studio customers. Jointly developed with Codex, the Panasonic VariCam Pure is a modular camera system with integrated 4K uncompressed recording at up to 120fps thanks to a new V-Raw 2.0 recorder design.

Without much fanfare, Panasonic introduced the HC-X1 (X1), a light, compact 4K Ultra HD professional camcorder that supports 4K 24p, UHD 60p/50p, FHD 60p/50p multi-format recording and HD super slow-motion. The new Panasonic HC-X1 Ultra HD Professional Camcorder, announced at IFA 2016, is developed to meet and exceed professional video production needs, while it offers a wide view of the world, with a newly integrated lens system which boasts the industry’s widest angle at 24mm and 20X zoom.

Sachtler, known for their camera support systems for broadcast and cinematography production, introduced the FSB 10 – a long-lasting new entry-level 100 mm fluid head. The new Sachtler FSB 10 builds upon the legacy of the lightweight yet robust FSB Series to offer a premium solution for on-the-go camera operators working in news, documentaries, wildlife, and more. The new tripod will debut at IBC 2016.

Fresh on the heels of a purchase of 12 FUJINON lenses this spring, Denver-based firm Mobile TV Group (MTVG) has added two UA107x8.4 (UA107x) 4K UHD lenses onto its 39 Flex 4K mobile unit and 13 FUJINON HD lenses to its newest 40HDX HD production truck – set to launch late next month. This recent selection marks the first delivery in the U.S. of the UA107x lens, introduced this past April at the NAB show in Las Vegas.
