AJA Video Systems announced v2.6 firmware/software for the FS-HDR real time HDR/WCG Converter with Colorfront Engine video processing. The free update includes new color transformation enhancements that give broadcast, production, post and ProAV professionals more flexibility to accomplish new workflows and achieve a consistent, final look when working with a range of 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD, SDR and HDR formats.

ChyronHego launched Vidigo News, an all-in-one newsroom production solution designed specifically for OTT content creation and publishing. Vidigo News packages ChyronHego’s Vidigo Live Compositor, an intuitive software solution for live multicamera production, with the award-winning LyricX graphics creation and playout solution, Live Assist playout automation system, and a custom GUI based on the Live Assist Panels user interface and control panel creation tool.

At IBC 2018, Sony announced a new 31-inch Grade 1 reference monitor, the BVM-HX310, which offers accurate colour reproduction and high-contrast performance to provide professional content creatives the assurance in critical picture decisions. The BVM-HX310 reference monitor reproduces 4K HDR content of up to 1,000 nits brightness with a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. The launch of the new reference monitor also marks the introduction of Sony’s new technology brand TRIMASTER HX.

Audio meter and monitoring device developer RTW will unveil its new speech intelligibility technology at IBC 2018 that provides real-time analysis of speech intelligibility in film and TV dialogue. The technology was developed in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT in Oldenburg and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).

Canon has announced their flagship field zoom broadcast lens, the UHD DIGISUPER 122. Which Canon claims, can deliver the world’s widest angle and world’s longest focal length – 8.2 mm at the wide end and 1000 mm at the telephoto end (2000mm with the 2x extender). It also has the world’s highest zoom ratio of 122x. The UHD Digisuper 122, can achieve the world’s widest angle, the world’s longest focal length, and the world’s highest zoom ratio among field zoom lenses for 4K broadcast cameras employing 2/3-inch sensors (as of September 12, 2018, based on a Canon survey).

Lectrosonics has introduced the new stereo version of its PDR micro digital recorder, the SPDR (Stereo Portable Digital Recorder). The unit captures to Micro SDHC card in Broadcast Wave Format with 24 bit depth and sample rates of 48 kHz or 96 kHz.

Lectrosonics announces the release of the RPS4, a high-reliability universal DC power supply with redundant internal supply modules. The unit is designed as a 12V DC source for low-voltage devices such as wireless microphone receivers, IEM transmitters, IFB transmitters, and audio signal processing equipment. The 1RU chassis eliminates the need for a separate power strip with individual DC supplies for each device. The RPS4 is ideal for use in broadcast, theatre, touring, houses of worship and many other professional applications.

Autoscript has introduced its latest application, iEVO, that turns any iPad into a teleprompter monitor driven by WinPlus-IP prompting software. The application allows one or more iPads to be connected to the WinPlus-IP software. They can also be used as additional reference monitors, or operator preview monitors in any location on the network.

LYNX Technik AG is to showcase its latest products for broadcast and professional AV at the upcoming IBC 2018, including a world premiere of cloud-based signal processing solution LYNX AIR. New modules for the yellobrik interface, RFR 1218, a new yellobrik rackframe as well as new APPS for the greenMachine titan platform will also be on display in hall 8, C70, at the Amsterdam show.

Calrec Audio will reveal two new IP products at IBC 2018 (stand 8.C61): the H2-IP Gateway and the AoIP Modular I/O controller card. Both products are SMPTE 2110/AES67-compatible and expand the range of AoIP solutions Calrec now offers. These two new solutions build on Calrec’s new Impulse core, a native-IP core for use with Apollo and Artemis surfaces.
