Apantac, provider of cost-effective multiviewers, video walls, extenders, and signal processing solutions will launch its new Multiviewer. The TAHOMA IP fully supports up 4 to 16 local or remote IP/ASI streams and accepts SD, HD, and 3G video formats for multi-image display on a single high resolution monitor. It offers superb video decoding technology with support for MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264 video compression formats, as well as MPEG-1 Layer 2 and AAC audio compression formats. Formats are supported at resolutions up to 1080P, 1920x1080P at 50/60 Hz.

The on-screen display functionality supports metadata such as closed captions, AFD, and WSS. The entire Apantac TAHOMA platform utilizes a flexible and simple skin technology that allows users to customize their on-screen display of graphics including; borders, labels, fonts, tally LEDs, clock faces, logos, embedded audio, discrete audio meters and audio / video alarms. Video windows on the display may include multiple labels, and support UMD, OMD, IMD and standalone labels.

“Using IP as part of the signal distribution mix is becoming increasingly important to broadcasters,” comments Thomas Tang, Apantac president. “This is the beginning of an exciting product range, as we are rolling out our hybrid version of the TAHOMA IP that supports a mix of IP and baseband video displayed on the same large high resolution display.”

TAHOMA Multiviewers are built on a common architecture for easy upgrades, and future-proofing. The hardware offers a sleek and attractive unit with redundant power and several control methods: via the front panel buttons, the 8 or 16 pushbutton panels, the Apantac ASCII protocol over IP or serial, and GPI inputs, and the Apantac Director software - a configuration and control application.
