Chyron has released CAMIO 5.0, ushering in the next generation of the company's MOS-driven graphics asset management platform.

This significant release represents a key milestone in the product life cycle. In this new release, Chyron has rearchitected CAMIO to tightly integrate all its components — LUCI, HubDrive, Render Engine, iSQ, and others — for easier installation, management, and maintenance, whether in an on-premises, cloud, or hybrid configuration. A modernized UI provides a more consistent experience for users as they work with CAMIO and with complementary tools, including Chyron's PRIME Live Platform, cloud-based AXIS' order management, as well as leading NLE, motion graphics, and visual effects software.

"Because we focused on designing this release around users' workflows, CAMIO 5.0 is an easy-to-use system that helps users create and bring to air high-quality graphics quickly and accurately," said Jim Martinolich, product manager at Chyron. "While we've made substantial enhancements and added many new features, many users will simply experience these changes through greater ease of use, control, and efficiency in getting the job done right."

CAMIO allows directors, producers, and operators to design, produce, and output news graphics from one scalable, intuitive platform that simplifies and streamlines the creation of compelling graphics. Producers and reporters simply fulfill graphics templates with text, images, or clips, and graphics templates are then added directly to stories in the NRCS MOS rundown.

Notable new features in CAMIO 5.0 include an improved design with a "dark look" option for the home page, asset manager, and LUCI plug-in, as well as other UI improvements that optimize screen real estate within MOS environments and deliver a streamlined navigational menu structure. To enhance the recently introduced large preview option, Chyron has integrated animated previews into LUCI. CAMIO's ability to identify dependent objects expands asset management functionality and helps to protect assets from accidental deletion.

While CAMIO is powerful as a stand-alone system, it can also be configured to support hub-and-spoke workflows with asset management capabilities across multiple departments, facilities, and regions. While moving content quickly across a station group, CAMIO users can monitor status and reporting on asset delivery.

"CAMIO has long been considered the leading newsroom interface for graphics systems, but this new release has the power and functionality to serve as a fully functional asset management system for a much broader array of graphics applications," added Hayes Stamper, product marketing manager. "Our vision for Chyron graphics systems is centered on CAMIO, and Version 5.0 serves as a solid foundation for even greater capabilities and efficiency."
